Indonesian Startup stimulates Sales of Fresh Produce by Street Vendors

KedaiSayur, or “vegetable kiosk”, is a startup in Indonesia that uses technology to modernize the sale of fresh produce by street vendors. Sellers can place their orders through an app and KedaiSayur hopes to negotiate better prices with the suppliers. Sellers can also place a larger order which is only paid for after the products have been sold. Recently, KedaiSayur has received funding of $1.3 million and there are already more than 2000 sellers connected to the platform. What turns out is that it can be very useful to enable small players to grow and modernize than to eliminate them.
