08-10-2019
Bovaer, a new food supplement for cows, reduces methane emissions by 30%, one of the most powerful greenhouse gases. Methane is a natural by-product of cows' digestion that they bring into the atmosphere by belching. Only a quart of teaspoon of Bovaer® per cow per day is sufficient to suppress the enzyme that causes methane production in a cow's stomach', According to DSM, the manufacturer of the product. Currently, the product is being tested in practice on a large number of different farms.

A promising development, therefore, at a time when the debate is about shrinking the herd.
