DISCOUNT with OWN MUG CATCHES ON: 60,000 LESS PLASTIC CUPS AT dutch railways

Consumer, Guilt-free consumption

22-06-2019
The discount on hot drinks that travelers get at stations when they bring their own reusable cup is on the rise. Between October and December 2018, 60,000 hot drinks have already been tapped into cups brought along, according to NS. Passengers will receive a 25-cent discount in 200 station shops, including branches of Julia's, the Kiosks and the AH To Go. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate can be ordered with this discount offer. With the 'Bring your cup' discount, the railways want to make their contribution to the environment and reduce waste at stations. Another initiative for which the brought cup can be used are the free water taps that the railways will install at or near 200 train stations.
